Boone County Busted Mugshot Records
Every Boone County busted record starts the same way. An arrest happens first. Then the jail accepts the person for lodging. From there, the jail logs the basics. That covers identity, intake time, the bringing agency, charges as entered, and custody status. A photo may be taken during this process. Florence Police, the Boone County Sheriff's Office, state troopers, and federal partners can all generate paperwork on one arrest. But when the person is lodged at the county jail, Boone County Jail keeps the custody entry.
Status matters when you read a listing. A Current entry means the official application showed the person in custody when viewed. A Released entry means the app showed a prior booking inside its search window. For anything beyond that, the Boone County Circuit Clerk's court file holds the case outcome.
Fields in Boone Booking Records
The official Boone County Jail application shows a trimmed set of fields. You get the first, middle, and last name. There is also the booking date, a scheduled release date where applicable, and a Display Detail control. Current, Released, and All are just views you can switch between. The underlying file may hold more than the screen reveals. A records request can ask the jail or sheriff about extra fields. Any item you request still faces review and lawful exemption.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name and booking number | The identity and local intake reference recorded by the custodian. |
| Booking date and time | When jail intake was entered, not when the case ended. |
| Arresting agency | The police, sheriff, state, or federal authority tied to intake. |
| Charges as booked | Accusations entered at intake, which can change in court. |
| Bond and release | Custody terms or a planned date, not a final case disposition. |
| Booking photo | An identification image if maintained and disclosable; no photo was confirmed in the public result list. |
| Court data | Arraignment, orders, docket events, and disposition are checked with the clerk. |
Three terms do a lot of work here. A booking is the jail's intake process after an arrest. Bond is a court-set condition that may allow release before trial. A disposition is the court's final outcome, whether dismissal, acquittal, plea, or judgment. Keep these straight. That way you read a live roster entry for what it is: a snapshot of custody, not the end of a case.
Request Boone County Busted Records
A records request succeeds when it is narrow. Name the custodian you think holds the file, and define either one record or a fixed date range. The BCSO open-records page routes written requests to the Custodian of Records. Ask for electronic delivery where practical. If the sheriff's office turns out not to hold the jail photo or intake record, ask them to point you to the agency that does.
- Write down the full name, approximate booking date, arresting agency, and booking or case number if known.
- Describe the exact items sought, including intake fields, listed charges, bond or release information, and any maintained booking photograph open to disclosure.
- Email bcs@boonecountyky.org or mail the Custodian of Records, P.O. Box 198, Burlington, Kentucky 41005. Ask for electronic copies.
- Keep the acknowledgment and any written denial. BCSO says it responds within five business days or gives an estimated completion date.
- Use the court clerk for the disposition, since a sheriff or jail record does not replace the judicial file.
BCSO posts its fee schedule in plain terms. Noncommercial paper copies run $0.10 per page. A DVD-R costs $1, postage $6, and USB drives vary. Email delivery carries no charge. Confirm the current policy before sending any money. One warning from the jail page deserves repeating: staff never call anyone to collect bond or payment, and bonds are paid in person only.

Kentucky Busted Mugshot Law
KRS 61.8746 targets a specific abuse. It applies when a commercial publisher gets a booking photo from a public agency, then demands payment before removing it. The statute offers a court action plus costs, fees, and damages. It does not require Boone County to post every image. It promises nothing about permanent online archives.
Kentucky's wider open-records framework still governs access. KRS 61.874 covers inspection and copying. KRS 61.878 lists exemptions. KRS 61.880 sets out determinations and the Attorney General review route. Juvenile, investigative, privacy, and safety limits can all affect what gets released.
For a wrong copy on a third-party site, fix the official source first. RecentlyBooked posts a no-charge policy for certain incorrect, dismissed, sealed, expunged, juvenile, duplicate, or outdated entries. Mugshots.zone offers a voluntary form and asks for supporting documents. Both are site policies, not court orders. Never pay an unknown caller promising guaranteed deletion. Google and Bing each offer free outdated-content tools that can refresh a stale search result. But neither erases a live page.
Old Boone County Mugshot Archives
A web result can vanish while the agency's file lives on. Kentucky's local retention schedule treats mug photographs as a record series kept eighty years before destruction. The county jailer schedule handles inmate files separately. Those may include photos plus related records held five years after release. These schedules are about record management. They promise nothing about what Boone County keeps viewable online.
The local schedule also describes a daily adult arrest list, and the Boone public application does not expose every field. For an older date, request the daily list or a narrow booking file. Non-evidentiary booking video can be destroyed after thirty days. Footage tied to evidence, litigation, or an open request may be held longer. If video matters to you, send a precise preservation request quickly.
Find Boone County Busted Mugshots
No single database answers every arrest question in Boone County. Work from custody status first. Then go to the agency that owns that slice of the record. Someone just booked, someone released, someone sentenced to state custody, and someone held for a federal authority can all sit in different systems. Knowing which bucket a person falls into saves you the most time.
- Open the official jail application. Search Current first, then Released or All, and record the check time.
- Sort by booking date for a recent event. Treat the result as a live snapshot because no complete same-day feed exists.
- Check the arresting agency. Florence Police keeps city incident records, while BCSO serves Burlington, Union, and county-at-large matters.
- Use the Boone County Circuit Clerk for the case and disposition. The roster cannot show whether a charge was reduced or dismissed.
- Use KOOL for Kentucky DOC custody, ICE for immigration custody, and BOP or USMS channels for federal status.
- File a dated request when a photo is not public, a quick release was missed, or a historic range must be complete.
Can a missing Current result prove there was no arrest? No. The person may have been released. They may have been cited without lodging, transferred, or entered later. They might be held in another facility. Describe only what the source showed when you checked it.
Where Boone Busted Mugshots Appear
Official sources come first. They define the record and its status. News reports and third-party archives can still help. They may pin down a spelling or a date. But they can be selective, stale, or copied before a later court event changed things. Photo availability varies by channel. So check what each source actually offers.
| Channel | Photo status | Authority and use |
|---|---|---|
| Boone Jail application | No photo confirmed in the public list | Official Current, Released, and All custody search. |
| Jail or BCSO request | Ask if maintained and disclosable | Official response, subject to exemptions. |
| Kentucky DOC KOOL | Camera icon when available | Official state custody or supervision, not a county feed. |
| Local news | Varies by story and attribution | Secondary reporting from WCPO, LINK nky, WLWT, FOX19, the Tribune, and Cincinnati.com. |
| RecentlyBooked and Busted Newspaper | Photo-bearing county pages | Unofficial copies that may be incomplete or stale. |
| Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, Mugshots.zone | Archive images may appear | Unofficial archives; verify with jail and court sources. |
That old “Boone County KY Sheriff” app from 2018 is gone as a roster channel. Nothing on today's BCSO site confirms a working download or any booking-photo feature. Treat any listing of that app as a dead end. It is not a source for current custody data.
Boone Busted Roster Search
Start with the county jail roster landing page. The county says its application finds people currently housed at Boone County Jail and returns current booking and custody details. "Current" is loose language, though. Bookings, releases, transfers, and corrections all shift the results during the day, so what you see is whatever the roster holds at that moment. Released and All states exist as options. The county publishes no retention period for either.
The official screen below shows how Boone County frames its search. It also carries the local warning against telephone bond-payment demands.
Treat the screenshot as an interface reference only. It is not a gallery of faces or a lasting inmate count.
| Search control | Available choices | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Current, Released, All | Choose the custody slice; none promises a full archive. |
| Name | First and last name | Check spelling and common-name collisions. |
| Sort | Name, booking date, scheduled release date | Booking-date descending is the closest same-day view. |
| Direction | Ascending or descending | Controls order, not completeness. |
| Page size | 10, 20, 50, 100 | Changes display size, not status. |
| Display Detail | Dynamic detail control | Does not prove a photo is public. |
Start with the Boone busted roster search bar. Pick a status, type in the name, then sort the results. Note the exact date and time of any booking you find. Release dates can shift, so treat them as estimates. Bond, transfers, court orders, holds, and data corrections all move a scheduled release. Check back often for the latest roster.
Recent Boone County Busted Bookings
Boone County publishes no same-day booking feed. There is no RSS stream, no social booking stream, and no separate “today's arrests” endpoint. The closest current check is the jail application in Current state. Sort it by Booking Date descending. Even that can miss someone released quickly, a booking not yet entered, or a person held outside the county jail. Note the time you checked and call it a snapshot.
No three-day, seven-day, or thirty-day feed exists either. Released and All may show older entries. But the county never says how long anything persists. For a defined multi-day window, request the daily adult arrest list and state the start and end time. Ask for booking number, booking time, arresting agency, charges as listed, bond, release status, and a maintained photo if one is disclosable.
RecentlyBooked claims a thirty-day window refreshed several times daily. Busted Newspaper and similar archives reach farther back. Those are third-party claims about third-party pages. Merging them with the Current roster will not produce an official county total. A third-party entry beside an empty Current result may just reflect two different custody states.
Note: Boone publishes no fixed roster refresh interval or historical search window, so every recent-arrest statement needs a source and checked time.
Boone Records in Kentucky KOOL
Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, or KOOL, covers the Department of Corrections side. Searches run on names, aliases, DOC number, PID, offender type, location, supervision, county of supervision, offenses, KRS data, conviction fields, institutions, and dates. A camera icon flags a result with a photo. Yet the KOOL FAQ is blunt: photos are not guaranteed.
The system updates four times a day. A photo can lag days behind DOC intake. It then refreshes at least yearly or after a major change in appearance. None of that makes KOOL a Boone County booking feed. Someone can sit under DOC supervision without being in prison at all.
Boone Booking and Custody States
Match the source to the question. For county custody, the jail application is strongest. For a case result, the court holds it. State and federal locators answer to separate legal authorities, even when the physical bed sits inside Boone County Jail.
| Status | Best source | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked or in custody | Boone Jail Current | Not every arrest results in local lodging. |
| Released from Boone Jail | Released or All, then records request | Online retention is not stated. |
| Court case or outcome | Boone County Circuit Clerk | The roster does not show final disposition. |
| DOC custody or supervision | Kentucky KOOL | Not a same-day county booking system. |
| ICE custody | ICE detainee locator | No public photo and stated locator limits. |
| Federal prison or USMS custody | BOP locator or USMS verification | No public mugshot gallery. |
ICE inspection reports document ICE, USMS, BOP, state, county, and surrounding-county populations at the Burlington jail. Housing there tells you nothing on its own. It does not reveal the charge or which agency owns the case. Check each agency on its own terms.
After a Boone County Bust
The BCSO court-process page splits a summons from an arrest warrant. A summons gives notice. It does not order an arrest. After an arrest and booking, arraignment comes first. Charges are read there, and rights are addressed. Misdemeanors and violations generally stay in District Court. A felony can take a longer road, moving through a preliminary hearing, possible grand-jury review, and Circuit Court.
The Boone County Court of Justice page lists the Justice Center, clerk contact, and current criminal schedules. Start any case-record request with the Boone County Circuit Clerk. Give the full name and an approximate booking date. Add the case number or court division if you have them.
The path runs arrest → booking and photo → jail custody → arraignment → hearings → disposition. A bond decision can land anywhere along it. So can a scheduled release, a transfer, or a roster removal. Report the final court record when known.
Correcting Boone Busted Mugshot Copies
The Kentucky court expungement page walks through certification, filing, and the qualifying dismissal or acquittal routes. An expungement is a court-ordered process that restricts a covered record. The court distributes orders to the agencies it lists, but another custodian holding a copy may still need a direct notice from you.
BCSO reported 817 expungement orders received in 2023. Its annual report says covered sheriff records can include reports, citations, photographs, and videos, and that the office seals them within sixty days of an order. A third-party archive or search snippet can lag behind all of that, so keep the order, agency acknowledgment, correction request, and source URLs.
Source correction, voluntary third-party removal, and search-result refresh are three separate steps. Send a custodian only the personal data truly needed, and do not expect a search engine to alter a jail, court, or publisher record.
Boone Custody Alerts and Transfers
Kentucky VINE is the official way to get custody alerts from participating jails and prisons. Sign-up costs nothing. You register by phone or email and pick a four-digit PIN. One caveat: VINE will not show a mugshot or spell out the full charge, the court result, or why a transfer happened. Think of it as a release-and-transfer alarm, nothing more.
Federal lookups each work differently. The ICE locator wants an exact first and last name plus country of birth, and it accepts optional birth data or an A-number. The BOP takes names or register numbers. The USMS keeps prisoner details tight and rarely shares booking photos. A detainer, meanwhile, is simply one agency asking a local jail to hold someone briefly for another authority.
Boone County Busted Mugshots by City
City lines rarely tell you who made the arrest. Boone County's official roster runs through jail custody rather than any city feed, so a busted mugshot tied to Florence or Union may still sit with the county. The three local pages below mirror how policing actually works here and point each request toward the likely record holder. That saves a wasted trip to the wrong desk.
- Florence Busted Mugshots: Florence has its own police department, but local lodging normally goes to Boone County Jail and no city photo feed was found.
- Burlington Busted Mugshots: the unincorporated county seat is served through BCSO, with the sheriff, jail, and court clustered in Burlington.
- Union Busted Mugshots: Union contracts with BCSO for police work, and the Burlington jail is the normal local booking destination.
Walton stays on the county access map without a page of its own. The map caps at three entries. It must include the county seat, so Walton misses the cut. For police matters there, county or regional dispatch handles the call. Jail records are a separate lane. They belong to the jail or the BCSO.
